Dear Diary Number 1
Cross Posted - Patterngroup.blogspot

Hey - So I've started my Print and Pattern Company-
www.paperbicycle.com
I am working on putting the website up by AUG 1st, but may be able to get something up there before that.
Here is a pattern I made today with paintings that I did at the Spyhouse yesterday.
It's part of a larger series of things I plan on making in the next couple days.

Flower Pattern THREE
So I just finished another pattern.
This one is to add to that portfolio I'm working on.
I figured that I should get some hand drawn looking things in here, too.
(I've also noticed that I should start making more things with colored backgrounds.)
I'll add those other patterns I made in Illustrator so you can see them)

POSTCARDX.net
So I recently re-discovered postcardx.net.
My penpal Jessica told me about it about 4 ?? years ago and I was all about it.
Of course, Mcad and life and whatever got in the way and I ended up forgetting about it for a while.
In one random moment, I remembered it's existance and went crazy.
check it out :
Postcardx.net
So it's really simple, you push a button to get some random person's address, and then you send them some mail. Sometimes trinkets, art, stickers or even a -- *gasp* postcard!
THEN... if you feel like it, you can add YOUR address to the pile and random people can mail you things!! How exciting!
I decided that I was going to make some quick fun collage postcards for these random people and include some love.
So here are the postcards I made.
I'm mailing them tomorrow. :)

Print & Pattern Portfolio
I'm getting ready to start getting my print & Pattern Portfolio ready again.
We just launched the new site and I'm excited to get some new stuff up there!
Here's something I painted today.
It's a little bit of paint and a lot of compositing on the computer.
viola!
here's version 1:

and version 2:

version 1 is pretty insane. I can't tell which one I like better.
more later.

Next Bride to be...
Inspired by this girl's myspace page.
I knew her when I was in elementary school... and it's funny.. i found her on myspace...
just thought a little too much about it, i guess....
So here's the sketch. this one's gonna be a painting... I'll end up posting the progress too, i suppose.
Maybe i'll even go back and post the rose girl's progress. i have a couple shots of that one, too.
Anyhow.
Here goes.

One more on the Barbie...
So here's painting number two in two weeks - This one I did in about 6 hrs over 3 days.
Trying to pick up the pace with the art stuff.
I'm applying to Grad school soon and figure that I should learn how to paint again.
We'll see how that goes...

Battle Scars and Crappy Paintings
Alright Adam,
touche!

-for those of you not in the know adam are battling it out art style- with art vs art.
here is a one night painting I did after I told him we should both do some art.
it's weird looking, but finished. I"m in the process of re-teaching myself how to paint.
The next one is better...

Oh! You Vixen, You!
Oh Tracy Walentine... You're looking better every minute!
So here's my progress.
I'm not really in love with tracy walentine. (by the way)
But you've gotta admit she's a looker!
She's not done yet, but she's gettin' close.
I Heart Tracy Walentine
So here's the inked version. Inked in illustrator.
The next step's gonna be the color.
You can see for a split second I thought about making her a blonde....
we'll see how far that thought goes.

Here's my progress so far. I wonder what the difference will be in the end.??
Check Chris's blog for his progress.

One more view...
Okay, so I was a little lazy before...
Here are the digital files of my bird cards.
It's a little bit better view of what they look like - but not quite real-life yet. (the real ones are printed on kraft paper)
I've finally gotten a moment to myself!
whew!
ALRIGHT ... HERE THEY ARE!

bird card number one!

and bird card two!
