I have been absent, but not totally gone...

Here are the most recent additions to the stationery section at Drawlgraphic.
These babies were unveiled at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn this past weekend!

There were three cards in total that made it, here are two...

This is one that I did in about 5 minutes after waking up one morning with an image in my brain.
I think that it could use a little something, but for now, version #1 ended up accompanying chris and I to the craft fair!
Bird silhouette with stripes.

And here is the second...

Actually, this one came to me while I was working on a project for a target pitch at work---
It's hard when you come up with some awesome ideas and then would rather keep them to yourself than to give them to your place of employment...
without further ado :

This one was by FAR the hit of all my cards. too bad I only brought a handful!

I haven't been slackin' by the way with art...
I just haven't been able to get my crap together and scan some new things!
I'll keep you posted, I just did a drawing last night of a bird that I'm really excited to show you...
Be on the look-out.

Bunny Suit

Alright-- here is another collaborative piece by me and chris.
I drew and inked this one, and chris and I colored it!
hooray!

this one's headed straight for the black and white book!

which---- i should really explain... but I will do that on the main drawlgraphic news soon.
woo!

brainchild of CHRINDSAY

Look at this collaborative piece -- done by Chris and I!
I'm thinking this is going to end up on the cover of the b&w book in some form or another!

here's how it looked as Chris's sketch, then i inked it and we colored it!
Yeah for kickin the pants!
woo!

notice that I gave his arms a shave.... ... .. and his treasure trail... .. ..

i like birds, kissing, and beads. if you couldn't tell by now....

I got sucked into the internet for a second today--- then promptly started working on this painting....
it's a little farther than you see here.. but since i'm lazy, I probably wont show you until a couple days from now.

but there you have it!

Chris and I have been accepted into a show called Sensory Overload-- at the Joan of Art Gallery in the Seward neighborhood of MPLS!

April 22!!! is the opening... hope to see you there!
our new art is there!!!!
more to follow....

Applique madness!

go me!
it has been a super productive weekend.
I designed 2 shirts and a bag already!
I'm planning a trip over to design collective tomorrow to bring them some of my new goods. :)
here they are!
Chris and I are taking better pics for the online store tomorrow-- but you get the sneak preview!

here's the finished bag, my new green "birds with beads" shirt, and here is my "pink bird with banner" shirt!

i'm proud of myself! being sick has either done something wonderful with my brain to make me get on it --- or somethin'...
it's 2:59! time for bed!!!

like a faucet, but i'm still goin' strong.

alright. i have the nastiest cold ever.
and it's 1:43am. i should be sleeping by now, but i just got too excited about making things tonight.
after a long week it seemed like the best thing I could do (besides uncontrollably snot all over myself)was to sew up some things for the upcoming craft shows. I know it's a while away, but after drawing and painting for a month or so, it was time to do something crafty.

so i made some totes.

hooray!

they're still in progress, but tonight i made 3 bags-- one doesn't have handles yet because i ran out of thread--- but i'm really excited about how they're going. they have a fancy applique on them and are on hunter's canvas.
-- a perfect background for some fancy birds if I do say so myself.

so, more to come, I am adding a little light blue sparrow or something that is flying in the same direction as this bigger bird. only half the size and light blue-- and then some fancy stitching!

I think this might be a good design for another teeshirt, so I might just go ahead and whip up 12 of these tomorrow, too for the hell of it.

yay!!!

straw guy!

here is a sketch for another drawing.
i dont know what to do with it yet, but i'm thinkin' about it...

Kissy Face #2!

alright! here it is!
progress shot #2 of my kissy face drawing!
there's something up with the lack of black on this guy's shirt, but I will resolve it soon.
I think I need to add some black behind him or something and a design on his shirt.

overall. i'm happy with it.
but it'll be better!!! watch for the update!
kiss!

Black & White Num2

okay. you know when you do something totally awesome, and then you try and repeat it?
and then suddenly all your talent leaves and you are stuck erasing the same thing over... and over... and over....

yeah. that's what this was.
i think i have this resevoir of art all lying in wait, and it slowly accumulates over time... so if i spend it all in one day, it takes a week to re-fill.

so here is the start...
and i'm about to ink this bad boy....

Sunday, March 12, 2006

black and white number one.

so, to get myself in the groove of inking again, i drew this picture.
of 2 girls. I actually stole adrienne's haircut for this one.
(*props to you for having a good haircut for me to steal.)

here is before,

and here is after...

i still have a little clean up... but at least i'm getting into inking again.
maybe i'll even consider this one for the b&w book!?!??!

hmmm.

torso update#2!

i've been working on finishing this painting lately---
here's my most recent pic.

life on hold--- until NOW!

my house has been in a shambles for god knows how long.. and finally chris and I have re-worked the upstairs so I now have an awesome studio.
I did a bunch of work on a painting tonight that I had started a while back.
I think the reason I hadn't painted in a long long time was because i had a foot of room work, and the rest of the room was a pile of garbage.

but NO MORE!

yeah!

so here is the painting-- in progress.
you might recognize this from the green drawing I have up on the designer gallery--

that's it for now--
now, i can finally work in peace! hooray!

MUNNY Project!

so there we are.
Adam bought us all munny's the other day as an idea for a new project. So, to start things off right, here's a picture of me with my new naked munny. I haven't the foggiest what might become of him in the following weeks, but it'll be neat to see what the differences are between mine, chris's and adam's.
Make sure to check back and see what might be happening to him and the others.
Progress sketches are on the way.
-Lindsay

EDIT: Adam told me that the previous picture of me looked like an old woman, so I re-took this stupid photo, and now it is even more bizarre. how fitting....

Sitting Around

So I've been going back and forth on this one for a while now. I will pick it up and put it down, love it, then hate it.
then want to throw it in the garbage... then cry a little a bout it, then think I'm a genius, then vomit all over it.

and here is the latest peek at it.
I've already got it up as the opening image for FEB on the intro page for drawlgraphic, but the actual illustration has yet to be REALLY completed.
but, the only thing I think I have to do now, is to fix that shadow and call it a day.
Then up on the Gallery It goes!
Yeah!

Finished Bird Classic Design!

So here it is. The finished Design for my new t-shirt. Colors may change a little depending on what color I print it on, but for now it's black, gold, and a beige of some sort, on a natural colored tee.
I'm gonna try and get this one printed on some jackets and some totes too. Just for kicks.
I'm excited! Yeah!

Bird Classic Progress Sketch 1

So I've got this new idea for a new shirt!
I haven't figured out my color scheme yet, but I was doodling at the Tea Garden last night and came up with an idea that I'm psyched to complete. I'm getting pretty excited about the Renegade Craft Fair, so I've been all about getting more stuff together.
Here's the first peek at my new tee.
