sketches of olivia and face parts

I got a book in the mail called Funny Bunny. it's an old big golden book.
it made me want to sketch/paint a funny cat. here is olivia.
i made this tonight for fun.
she has no limbs, except for one foot. HAAHAHHAA

and even earlier than that, I sat around at the tea garden and drew this.

it is a crappy photo, but it was fun to draw. it was originally going to be pieces of a wallpaper I was going to turn in for a contest tomorrow. I am not sure it is contest material quality, but maybe i'll do something with it tomorrow.

Stocking excitement!

i made stuff today and yesterday. here it all is!
stockings for christmas!
one for me, one for chris, one for two dogs, one for five cats, one for dean and one for fish.
I think I am getting the pink flowery one, chris is going to have the spotty one, dogs, the orange one, cats the green and yellow one, and pink - dean, and blue for fish.

i should have posted a reference pic, chris says they are huge (except the little pink and blue ones) They are bigger than a yellow pages, and about as long as my fingers to elbow.
that is so we can put lots of fun things in them!

Last night I made quite a few ornaments! I had a blast just sitting around gluing things together... a little embroidery... a little painting... a little egg blowing... whatever!
I came up with some really funny things. Some silly birds, my cat jade & a holiday bell!

Sitting in the Las Vegas Airport

With too much time to spare.
So I am here for one day just waiting to get back on the plane to mpls. I had a good time today.
I spent it with one of my clients - who is the best wheeler-dealer hustler I know. This guy got us into 750.00 worth of tradeshows for free. There were times when i was like. "whoa" but there were other times i was like "WHOA!"

in the positives and the negatives! all the way!
It was great though - we went to pool and magic and then finally projects. - all of which were really cool shows. I really liked projects the best. it was like a dream come true.
I didn't take any pics of the tradeshow when I was there because of the restrictions on cameras, but did manage to take a picture of the airport. this is what it looks like behind me right now.

as you can see- i look like crap and am confused by the sea of slot machines.
i guess if i needed to quick get some gambling in before i went home, now would be the time.
only t-minus 2 hrs before i get on my flight home....

Painting Progress - Giftastic...

I've started a free-time painting and have been picking away at it over about a week so far... now and again, but in between my work stuff.
It's still in the ugly stages before it really looks like anything, but I had fun making a weird gif. I'm hoping to finish this over the next week so I can see it when it doesn't look like blobs!

I promise it will look nice when I'm done.

Table Cards

I spent most of Tuesday night working on some things for the wedding.
I don't want to give all the surprises away... but I guess I can show you just one...
After much thought and some consideration on pricing, I ended up printing my invites somewhere else and without doing the crazy tri-fold thing.
I am actually totally psyched about how they're turning out and am hoping for the best when I finally see the color!

Here is a sneak peek for some fun things that are on the DIY agenda...

I know quite a few creative individuals that will fill this thing out with the words " butts, butt, butting, and Buttman".

... one of those individuals is probably me.

Cold Days on Lake Superior

I've been trying to make something every day and over the last couple days. I guess I've done a couple things... We went to a friend's really pretty wedding at the Lutsen Resort on the North Shore of Lake Superior where I took a bunch of photos. Now, I am not a fantastic picture taker, but there is one that I think is really striking. I was not drawing over the weekend, just photo taking!
Chris put a bunch on his flickr account. Here are two I like a lot.
Look at how grey they are.... Can you find Chris in both of them?
The air looks so cold....

Ryan's Tattoo!

When - new internet friend - Ryan asked to use a piece of owl art for a tattoo a while back I offered to draw him his very own owl! Here's the image I did for him and here's photo-proof that it exists in tattoo land!
Yeah Ryan! :)
Thanks for sending a picture to me!!

Fruities Patterns

I finished two new patterns tonight - getting ready to hand these over for printsource!
I did the strawberry one on the left last month - and the two new ones I did just to make it a collection so the strawberry one had some buddies in the fruit pile!

Dragonflies today.

I forgot to post this for my Monday art.
I have been trying to be better about posting what I'm doing.
Here is a pattern I did to round out the butterfly group - it's in addition to the ones I made on Sunday! I've got a mini placed graphic there and a simple wavy stripe.
I like the colors on this one. Very preppy!

Making Patterns Tonight:

Catching up on my pattern stuff:

(except for the burgundy butterfly and the "be good be green" ones.
I made those last month!)

I'll have to post what I made over the weekend, too.

Back-dating Bracelet making!

I had a bracelet making party while chris played videogames on Sat -
Here is a silly picture of my weird forearm and a cute picture of Jade, my cat.
She pretty much was the reason for this picture, but I guess I had to put some kind of art in this post!

Cup Paper Banner Project - Process

I Started a project on Friday the 24th - A bunch of friends were at the studio with me working on various projects - and (for some reason) earlier that day I bought an 11 dollar huge roll of red paper.
Here are a couple pics of what I'm doing with it so far.
The end result will soon look like a giant doily!

I haven't done some personal art in a while and it felt really good.
The end thing will be about 20" x 30" and a bright cherry red!
When it hangs on the wall it'll look really neat with the shadows behind it!

almost bought 70$ worth online...

I drew this tonight for no reason other than I was drinking one...

(extra bonus points if you can figure out what it is)
(super extra bonus if you can tell the flavor...)

New Kitties

I made a quick AI drawing of our new kitty, Jade!
We got her a couple weeks ago and she's adjusted to our zoo quite well!
She's about 6 lbs and really cuddly!
Her eyes don't look like normal roundy cat eyes, only half-open eyeballs for her!

EDIT: I ended up fixing her up a bit this morning because when I woke up she looked really weird!

Wedding invites, for reals!

Here are the wedding invites we're working on!
They will fold up into a self-mailing tri-fold

Just ignore that mis-spelling of Mississippipiipsstps.
And any other ones you find. I'll fix it before the real deal goes up!
Dance party! Only 2 months away!!

Oh man!
This whole website thing has been ailing me for the last, like... what....forever!
I made this great new website and for some reason I wasn't able to direct anyone to - only!

For anyone who had to listen to me whine about it for the last month. thank you for putting up with it!

but no longer!
you can now enjoy AND

Paper Bicycle is my job.

I am working on a new website.
Here it is in it's semi-working state!
I hope to add more to the capabilities portfolio & whatever soon!

Now you know what I do during my "working" hours!

I have quite a few things I need to fix on here, but it's a good start!

I am so clever....

Here is a mini preview of some work I did tonight for a client.
We're doing a pitch to a certain large retailer for easter.
so tonight i'm sitting here drawing fast and furiously -
making bunnies in the theme of "fast and furriest"...

is that applause i hear?

ANYWAY - if they don't go for that title, maybe they'll go for "fuzzy bunny"
which is option B.
Either way these bunnies will be covered in flocking - and will hopefully be rolled out into a giant packaging program.

this was a lot of fun.

not so secret tee designs...

aw man, i can't help it...
here are some other tee designs i'm doing for my not so mystery client.
don't tell anyone.
i just want you nice people to know im actually doing things when i'm sitting at home (or tea garden) all day...

sorry about them being micro and I apologize for the watermarks ... i am starting to get a little worried about where my images go sometimes :P
I guess that's what I get for putting them on the internet.

on that note,
thanks SO MUCH to everyone who sends me notes when they're interested in my work! I TOTALLY appreciate how you've taken the time to track me down :) it means a lot to me!
many thanks!
